Our Vision & Mission

We are innovative, caring leaders in providing secure shelter, crisis intervention, safety planning, counselling and transition services for women and children affected by abuse in Grey and Bruce Counties.

We support women and children as they build safe and sustainable lives free from abuse and violence.

We are experienced in providing accessible, woman centred and compassionate services. We are committed to accountability, self-evaluation and ethical practices.

The agency believes in the benefits diversity brings and it recognizes that diversity of thought contributes to the formation of a strong organization.

We share our own expertise and welcome the expertise of others in our community to address the complex factors that perpetuate abuse and violence.

We are committed to mobilizing our community to uphold and advance equality, self-determination and the elimination of violence. We can only achieve this through cultivation of partnerships with others who share these values.

All board, management, and staff appointments must collectively reflect the diverse nature of the environment in which TWC operates and be made on merit, in the context of the skills, experience, independence and knowledge which the organization requires to be effective. The agency is committed to ensure and maintain diversity and to diligently act to effect change.

The Women’s Centre Grey Bruce strives to remove barriers that interfere with trans-women’s active participation in programs. The agency works to create a respectful and inclusive environment for trans-women. This policy is intended to act as a positive force for equity and the elimination of transphobic oppression. For the purposes of this policy, trans-women are defined as people living and identifying as women.
