Short term, safe housing is available to women and their children who are fleeing an abusive relationship. In the past year, several hundred women and children received emergency shelter services from the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce.

Women and their children can temporarily reside in a safer and accessible facility. In total, there are 8 comfortable bedrooms available. The kitchen, recreational areas, large fenced yard and laundry facilities are shared and residents co-operate to prepare meals and do household chores. The home is fully furnished and can meet a range of special needs. Toiletries, meals and other basics are also provided for women and children during their stay.

The length of a stay may be up to several weeks. Women and their children receive help from trained female staff for 24 hours per day, as needed. Our staff is available to provide understanding support, information and referrals to other community resources such as legal assistance.
